Carrier Transicold, a division of Carrier Corporation, and its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “Carrier Transicold”) are responsible for this TransCentral website (the “Site”) and are committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to this website.  Carrier Transicold has implemented technical, administrative, and physical measures to safeguard any personal information that we may collect.

The Site is intended for visitors who are at least 18 years of age.  Carrier Transicold does not knowingly solicit information from, or market products or services to, children.  If you are under the age of 18, please do not enter your personal information on this or any other Carrier Transicold website.

What personal information does Carrier Transicold collect?

Carrier Transicold monitors user traffic patterns throughout the Site according to a user's domain name, browser type, date and time of access, and pages viewed.  Our web servers collect the domain names but not the email addresses of visitors.  This information is collected in order to measure the number of visitors to the Site and to determine which areas of the Site users find useful based upon the amount of traffic to particular areas.  Carrier Transicold uses this information to enhance users’ experience at the Site and to better prepare future content based on the interests of users.

Use of the Site is limited to Carrier Transicold’s authorized dealers and service centers. To use the Site, you must register.  If you register, Carrier Transicold will require that you provide your name, title, company name, address, email information, and  telephone number.  You will not be able to register without providing that information.  You may choose to provide additional information, including but not limited to your facsimile number and mobile telephone number, but you may register without providing any of those items.

How does Carrier Transicold use the personal information it collects?

Any personal information collected will only be used to:

·                     communicate with you about products, services, and events relating to Carrier Transicold;

·                     improve our products, services, and websites, including the Site;

·                     respond to a “contact us” inquiry;

Because Carrier Transicold is a global company with locations in many different countries, we may transfer your information from one legal entity to another and/or from one country to another, including to the United States,  in order to accomplish the purposes listed above.  We will transfer your personal information consistent with applicable legal requirements and only to the extent necessary.  If you do not want your information transferred to other legal entities or transnationally, including to countries that may not have been deemed “adequate” by the European Union, please do not provide us with your personal information.  If you choose to provide us with your personal information, we will treat that action as consent to transferring your personal information to other companies and other countries as described in this notice.  Where applicable, Carrier Transicold transfers data pursuant to its certification under the European Union and Swiss Safe Harbor Frameworks.

Does Carrier Transicold use your personal information to contact you?

Carrier Transicold may use the personal information you provide to contact you about products, services, promotions, special offers, surveys, and other information that may be of interest to you.  If you prefer not to receive such communications, please use the “unsubscribe” function within the website or let us know by sending an email to systemsupport.transicold@carrier.utc.com.  Also, Carrier Transicold will ensure that any marketing communications sent by electronic means will provide a simple method for you to opt-out or unsubscribe.

Does Carrier Transicold share the information it collects with any third parties?

Carrier Transicold will not sell or otherwise share your personal information outside the Carrier Transicold group of companies, which includes Carrier Corporation’s parent company, United Technologies Corporation, and all affiliates within the United Technologies Corporation group of companies, except to:

·                     service providers Carrier Transicold has retained to perform services on our behalf.  Carrier Transicold will only share your personal information with service providers whom Carrier Transicold has contractually restricted from using or disclosing the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements;

How does Carrier Transicold use cookies or other tracking technologies?

Carrier Transicold may use cookies on the Site.  Cookies are small text files sent to and stored on users’ computers that allow websites to recognize repeat users, facilitate users’ access to websites, and allow websites to compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements.  Cookies do not damage users’ computers or files.  If you do not want cookies to be accessible by the Site or any other Carrier Transicold website, you should adjust the settings on your browser program to deny or disable the use of cookies.

The Site may also use web beacons.  A web beacon is usually a pixel on a website that can used to track whether a user has visited a particular website to deliver targeted advertising.  Web beacons are used in combination with cookies, which means that, if you turn off your browser's cookies, the  web beacons will not be able to track your activity.  The web beacon will still account for an anonymous visit, but your unique information will not be recorded.

Carrier Transicold allows users to correct or change information submitted to Carrier Transicold or to report problems with the website or to pose questions or concerns by contacting systemsupport.transicold@carrier.utc.com.

If you make a request to review a copy of your personal information, Carrier Transicold will require proof of identity to ensure that we are protecting your privacy in responding to access requests.  Additionally, applicable law may permit Carrier Transicold to charge you a nominal sum in order to cover administrative costs in responding to your request. 

What should you understand about the third-party links that may appear on this website?

In some instances, Carrier Transicold may provide links to non-Carrier Transicold controlled websites, which Carrier Transicold will make reasonable efforts to identify as such.  Carrier Transicold does not control such third-party websites, however, and cannot be responsible for the content or the privacy practices employed by other websites.

What additional information should website users in California know?

Annually California residents may request and obtain information that Carrier Transicold shared with other businesses for their own direct marketing use within the prior calendar year (as defined by California’s “Shine the Light Law”).  If applicable, this information would include a list of the categories of personal information that was shared and the names and addresses of all third parties with which Carrier Transicold shared this information in the immediately preceding calendar year.  To obtain this information, please send an email message to privacy.compliance@utc.com with “California Shine the Light Privacy Request” in the subject line as well as in the body of your message.
